I'm proud to run with Team Red Cross because...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Team Red Cross brings together runners of all ages, background, and abilities in support of the American Red Cross while providing a rewarding charitable-giving experience.   For me this is another way that Red Cross is saving lives because training for this and having a goal in mind is like good medicine (and better than pharmaceuticals.)

The mission of the American Red Cross is to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. Your gift will directly support the lifesaving mission of the American Red Cross AND BE HELPING SAVE ME PERSONALLY.

It's not just about running an iconic marathon event.  This is a drastic measure to rescue me from some dark times.  Several challenging life events have suffocated my regular exercise routines.  This is my cry for help.  The NYC Marathon will literally be my first and only running or triathlon event of 2023.  (I normally do 8-10 triathlon and/or running events annually.)  A reason to restart is desperately needed to return to a healthier me.  It's a WIN:WIN to be doing something so important for both myself and to support such a worthwhile charity.   If I have to pay the whole fundraising amount myself, it is a small price for my health and getting endurance sports training back into the schedule to support ongoing mental health.  I am inviting you to join me.  No gift is too small and will let me know you are on my team to support me AND The American Red Cross.

Because of YOU, when a disaster strikes, the Red Cross is there to provide food, shelter, relief supplies, and hope to individuals displaced by a disaster.  At the same time, communities are receiving Red Cross training in First Aid, CPR, and disaster preparedness to help save lives.

When military recruits prepare to leave for military service, the Red Cross is there with them, explaining how we will support them and their families throughout their military career and beyond.

When the international community calls upon us, the American Red Cross is there alongside our Red Cross and Red Crescent societies to provide relief and hope around the globe.

And, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, we provide hospitals with lifesaving blood products from volunteer donors.

Thank you for generously supporting the American Red Cross!

If you have any questions regarding your donation, please contact sophie.neumann@redcross.org.
