Support Me

Sleeves Up. Hearts Open. All In.

As we head into the 50th anniversary of the New York City Marathon, I can't help but take a moment to reflect on the past year and a half. A city once so full of people, of energy, and of creativity found itself at the epicenter of a global pandemic. Our lives changed drastically as we quietly moved from the hustle & bustle of the city to our tiny apartments, we grieved as we lost many loved ones and the small businesses that made the city ours, and we celebrated the everyday hero's who moved us forward. That’s why I’ve chosen to run the marathon with the American Red Cross.

I would appreciate any contribution to help me meet my personal fundraising goal of $5,000. Every dollar makes a difference!

When I think of the American Red Cross, I think of home. My journey to New York began with working as a Mass Care intern with the American Red Cross headquarters in Washington, DC and later led me to supporting the Greater New York Chapter during Hurricane Sandy relief. I was then hired full time as the Regional Manager of Mass Care & Logistics for the Long Island chapter, where we responded to emergencies and disasters across the region—home fires, floods, building collapses—and more, providing shelter, food, clothing and emotional support at no cost to those in need.

Working for the Red Cross was an honor, I was surrounded by such compassionate, intelligent, and selfless people. Hope & resiliency was what we were taught to give our clients, to guide them towards resources available as they remained hopeful and moved forward. It was a job where you always kept a spare set of clothes and a toothbrush in your desk drawer, and there were never any questions asked when asked to sleep in the office. Because the moment the phone rang or the radio went off, someone on the other end of the line was having one of the worst days of their life.

To all my fellow New Yorkers, thank you for remaining hopeful, resourceful, and resilient as we rebuild the city we know and love. This years marathon is for you.

I'm proud to run with Team Red Cross because...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Team Red Cross brings together runners of all ages, background, and abilities in support of the American Red Cross while providing a rewarding charitable-giving experience.

The mission of the American Red Cross is to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. Your gift will directly support the lifesaving mission of the American Red Cross.

Because of YOU, when a disaster strikes, the Red Cross is there to provide food, shelter, relief supplies, and hope to individuals displaced by a disaster.  At the same time, communities are receiving Red Cross training in First Aid, CPR, and disaster preparedness to help save lives.

When military recruits prepare to leave for military service, the Red Cross is there with them, explaining how we will support them and their families throughout their military career and beyond.

When the international community calls upon us, the American Red Cross is there alongside our Red Cross and Red Crescent societies to provide relief and hope around the globe.

And, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, we provide hospitals with lifesaving blood products from volunteer donors.

Thank you for generously supporting the American Red Cross!
