Hills for Helene - Miles for Milton: Hurricane Disaster Relief Fundraiser

Dear fellow dreamers - thank you so much for your support for hurricane disaster relief today and joining me as we walk Hills for Helene - Miles for Milton.

Today's walking tour is a LIVE fundraising walk for those suffering in the aftermath of back-to-back hurricanes in the United States.

This morning we will walk up and over the beautiful intracoastal waterway, tour Jacksonville Beach on one side of the street, touch the magnificent Atlantic Ocean, see the breathtaking sunrise, and then walk back over the intracoastal waterway showcasing the opposite side of the street.  One end of the island to the other... The hills are for Helene, and the miles are for Milton. 

We will tour both sides of the street, see two area hotels, and many local area businesses, shops, and restaurants as well.

Over the last few weeks, people in the U.S. have been recovering from unimaginable, large-scale disasters. First, Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida, then devastated large parts of the southeastern United States, including western North Carolina. 

And then, less than two weeks later, Hurricane Milton hit Florida once again, affecting the Sunshine State coast to coast. The American Red Cross is leading a massive response to ensure no one faces these massive recovery challenges alone.

Over 2,100 Red Cross disaster responders have been working 24/7 with partners to provide safe shelter, meals and emotional support to those affected across multiple states including Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and more. Tens of thousands of people took refuge in shelters, and we’ve distributed meals, water, and relief supplies in some of the hardest-hit areas.
