Home fires are the nation’s most frequent disasters and claim seven lives every day. We can help to change this.

Here in Georgia, home fires are a daily occurrence and increasing in number since the start of the pandemic. Since the launch of the American Red Cross' Home Fire Campaign in 2014, the state has emerged as a national leader with the greatest number of lives saved – 182 – as a direct result of efforts to educate families on the importance of fire safety and the installation of smoke alarms.

Every day, Red Cross volunteers aid families affected by home fires by providing comfort and emergency assistance for necessities like food and lodging. And this spring, American Red Cross volunteers will Sound the Alarm in at-risk communities by educating people about home fire safety and helping families create an escape plan.  Over 56,000 free smoke alarms have been installed in some of Georgia's most vulnerable communities since 2014, making households safer from the threat of home fires.

Your donation can help families prepare for, respond to, and recover from home fires. Thank you for helping to make Georgia communities safer!
